Activities for Teaching and Learning Blogs
 
 
  1. Analyze – Ask students to analyze a book, article or other posting.
  2. Brainstorm – Pose problems and create a collection of ideas.
  3. Collaborate – Work collaboratively with another class in another school.
  4. Communicate – Interact with an expert and conduct an interview.
  5. Compare – Make a comparison.
  6. Discuss – Examine a problem, question, drawing, photograph, or diagram. Then, write captions, analyze elements, speculate, or create.
  7. Explain – Ask students to learn and demonstrate their understanding.
  8. Imagine – Ask students to imagine a situation or scenario.
  9. Observe and Log - Observe human interactions, scientific experiments, or other activities and post a record (i.e., kindness journal, plant growth, survey results).
  10. Persuade -Ask students to make a persuasive argument.
  11. Predict -Read or watch then predict what will happen next.
  12. Problem Solve -Pose a problem and discuss solutions.
  13. Question – Get students involved in asking questions.
  14. React, Think and Act -Connect in-class learning to blog entries. Transfer learning to new situations.
  15. Read and Jigsaw -Read or use online resources and discuss (i.e., quote, Web site, poem, historical document, problem, literature circles). Then, analyze, evaluate, and create. Add a comment.
  16. Remember and Reflect -Think about an activity and reflect on it.
  17. Share Student Work -Share materials in a digital format including documents, PDF files, photographs, charts, graphics, written work, audio, video, and presentations.
